Joel Atson is a local Golf Professional with over 10 years of experience in managing golf operations, providing golf lessons, and club repair. Joel enjoys coordinating tournaments, managing pro shop operations, and delivering exceptional customer service for his golf instruction. A proud alumnus of Kirtland Central High School, where he played golf and was a District champion in 2004, Joel qualified for the NMAA State Championships all four years, with his best finish being T15. After high school, he turned professional and enjoyed over 6 years of competitive play, achieving multiple wins. In addition to offering annual memberships, Joel loves spending time on the golf course with his two daughters, Malia (11) and Quinnley (5). My career boasts 6 PGA wins, 11 PGA Senior titles, and 7 US Senior Opens, totaling over 70 professional wins. I was the 1993 Club Professional Champion and the 1988 Runner-Up. I represented (3) PGA Cup Teams in '88, '94, and '96, and won the Michigan Open Championship in 1998 and 2004. Additionally, I have claimed the Michigan PGA Championship in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2004, and 2019. My low round on the PGA TOUR is 68, while I achieved a low round of 65 on the CHAMPIONS TOUR. Notable rounds include 61 at San Juan CC and 62 at Flint Golf Club in Flint, Michigan. My best finish on the PGA TOUR was 31st at the Buick Open in Flint, Michigan, and my best finish at the PGA TOUR CHAMPIONS was 13th at the 2008 ACE Group Classic in Naples, Florida and 15th at the 2011 US Senior Open.
COACHING Philosophy: With over 40 years of experience in teaching and coaching, I offer golf lessons tailored for everyone from beginners to aspiring TOUR-level elite golfers. I leverage my understanding of swing fundamentals and assess the sports you've played to gauge your movement level. As a TPI Certified Coach, I focus on aligning your movements with your body’s strengths and limitations to optimize your impact conditions. I emphasize the importance of impact—the golf ball only reacts to the geometry of how you hit it! By evaluating your body, I can help you understand how to move better and swing more efficiently.
For those looking to improve their game, I incorporate smaller swings to prepare for larger ones, enhancing your short game while working on your long game. I also make use of training aids, which serve as valuable tools to help you visually and physically develop the 'feels' necessary to replicate a better swing and effectively transfer that to the course. Additionally, I have a deep understanding of SPEED Training using Mach 3 principles, which many find useful for grasping effective swing movement. Born and raised in Farmington, Luke grew up playing golf in the Four Corners Area. He is a 2005 graduate of Farmington High School and the 2004 New Mexico State High School Champion. Luke was a standout player at Fort Lewis College - a Division II college in Durango, Colorado – winning a total of 7 golf tournaments, including the conference championship. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 2009, Luke moved to Arizona where he played professional golf full-time for two and a half years, gaining a wealth of playing experience and knowledge. He also owns the current course record of 62 at Piñon Hills. Luke worked as the Assistant Golf Professional at Piñon Hills before becoming the Assistant Golf Professional, and eventually the Head Golf Professional, at San Juan Country Club. He became the Head Golf Professional at Piñon Hills in April of 2015. Luke was elected to PGA Membership in November of 2014, receiving Class A status. He is very confident in his ability to teach and grow the game of golf, offering excellent golf lessons and promoting annual memberships that enhance the golfing experience. Additionally, Luke is excited to introduce new technologies like golf simulators, which provide players with a great way to practice and enjoy the sport at competitive golf simulator rates.

During her college career, she qualified for Nationals three years in a row, with her best finish being 22nd place. After graduation, she stayed on to help coach WNMU’s women’s golf program, where she offered valuable golf lessons to aspiring players. Faylyn then returned home to continue her career in golf and now serves as the Deputy Program Director at First Tee Four Corners. There, she combines her love for the game with her passion for coaching and making a positive impact on the next generation of golfers. The program also offers annual memberships and utilizes golf simulators, providing players with a comprehensive training experience.
